Down Syndrome Woman’s Dream of Playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast Comes True

MANKATO, MN (November 9, 2021) — Each holiday season Profinium Inc. seeks to learn about people’s dreams and to help them come true. The Achieving Dreams Together program, powered by the Profinium Dreams Foundation, exists to achieve dreams for people at the tipping point in their life.

Emily Broze, a 30-year-old woman with down syndrome, loves theater and participating in her Aktion Theater Club. Her dream has always been to play Belle in Beauty and the Beast. As it was for everyone, the winter of 2020 was dismal due to the pandemic shut down. Emily missed going to shows and seeing her friends plus her place of work was shutdown permanently.

Emily was awarded an Achieving Dreams Together grant in 2020 for the show to be put on November 4, 2021, Emily’s 30th birthday. A fund at the Mankato Area Foundation was created with the funds from Profinium to help pay for the show.

Thanks to all of her friends at Aktion Club and their innovative director, Wilbur Neuschwander-Frink rehearsals started on zoom and are now masked and in person. Aktion Theater Club is a community wide theater program for people with disabilities.

Profinium helps people achieve dreams every day and make the amazing possible for our clients and communities.  Inspirational summaries of past dreams achieved are available at Profinium.com/giving
