Scholarships

The Mankato Area Foundation administers scholarship funds for a variety of donors. Learn more below about the individual scholarship requirements and how to apply.

Eligible Applicants: Students who receive the Triple A Award at Mankato East High School of School District 77 in Mankato, MN.

Please note that Mankato Area Foundation does not accept applications for the Dustin Lemke Memorial Scholarship Fund. Winners of the Triple A Award are determined by Mankato East High School.

Scholarship Amount: $1,500

Application Deadline: For more information regarding the application process for the Triple A Award and deadlines, please contact the Mankato East High School’s guidance counselor.
Please note that Mankato Area Foundation does not accept applications for the Elks Charitable Fund Scholarship.

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

Eligible Applicants: Nontraditional students currently enrolled in the nursing program at South Central College or Minnesota State University, Mankato. Applicants must be a nontraditional student as defined by SCC and MSU.

Scholarship Amount: Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to both SCC and MSU for a total of four scholarships equaling $8,000 annually.

Scholarship is awarded to three eligible applicants per year.

Eligible Applicants: High school seniors graduating from Southland High School of School District 500 in Adams, MN with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and who plans to attend a four year U.S. college or university or a two year U.S. college or trade school.

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

Eligible Applicants: Persons who are employed by J&R Schugel Trucking Inc., are an owner operator, or an immediate family member of an employee or owner operator. Employee or owner operator must be currently employed with J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc. for no less than a period of 24 months.

Scholarship Amount: Determined Annually

Eligible Applicants: Female high school seniors graduating from School District 77 in Mankato, MN or School District 14-4 in Watertown, SD with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Please note that the number of award recipients and scholarship amount is determined annually.

Scholarship Amount: up to $15,000

Eligible Applicants: Applicants must be graduating from a public high school, private high school, or homeschool education within the boundaries of ISD #77; and plan to attend a 4-year U.S. college or university, or a 2-year college, or a trade school.

This scholarship was created to provide opportunities for any area student to pursue post high school educational opportunities recognizing that the quality of a person is not always reflected in traditional scholarship metrics like GPA or extra-curricular activities.

Scholarship Amount: $5000

Application Deadline – April 7

Eligible Applicants: High school seniors who are graduating from School District 77 with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and who plan on attending a four year liberal arts college.

Scholarship Amount: up to $1500

Eligible applicants: Students who currently attend or plan to attend Martin Luther High School in Northrop, MN.

Please note that Mankato Area Foundation does not accept applications for the Virginia and Martin Krause Scholarship Fund. Recipients are determined by Martin Luther High School.

Amount: Up to $2,000
